Chat is how you build in the web app: describe what you want, and the platform agent creates and maintains the agents, workflows, and triggers in your project. To run a deployed agent, use that agent’s page under Agents instead — see Navigate the web app. The same platform-agent chat is available in two places.

Full chat page

New chat in the sidebar opens the full-page chat at /chat. Each conversation is a session bound to one project in your active organization — pick the project when you start, and start a new chat to work on a different project. Reopen a past conversation from the chat history, or share its URL (/chat?sessionId=...).

Chat dock

The chat dock keeps conversations available at the bottom of the page while you move around the workspace — open a workflow, check run history, or browse Apps without losing the thread. Docked sessions appear as tabs; the dock popover can be minimized, closed, or expanded into the full chat page. You can hide the dock entirely with Show chat dock in Settings > Preferences.

Chatting with your own agents

The platform agent chat builds things. To talk to an agent you’ve deployed, use the chat on that agent’s page instead — open Agents and select it. See run agents in the web app.

What happens behind the chat

The platform agent works in a hosted session on your project’s shared draft — real TypeScript, the same source coding agents edit locally. Draft edits aren’t live until deployed; the agent tells you when something is still on the draft, and you can watch the draft in the project’s Repository tab. Full detail: Platform agent. When a build needs an app connection, the agent shares a connect link that opens the in-app connect dialog — approve OAuth or enter the API key there, never in the chat itself.
